    Really Fabulous Show

    March 23, 2007
Ira Glass has managed to take his phenomenally good radio show, This American Life, and do the nearly impossible; transform it into a TV show of equally great quality.
It starts with Ira choosing quirky, always compelling stories involving real people. These stories then lead the audience on a merry and wholly unpredictable adventure.

You must see this show !!

So that's what Ira Glass looks like...

    March 23, 2007
Marvelous! It captured the vibe of the radio program. I worried that the film would ruin the whole feel of This American Life, but it was great. You could close your eyes and just listen to the TV and it's just as powerful, but the added "picture" gives you the satisfaction that you've always longed for while listening.
    Great venture- it pays off!!!

    Excellent Reality Show

    March 25, 2007
This show was excellent. It is original, intelligent, considerate, and thought-provoking. This is "reality TV" the way it should be (without sensationalism or trashiness). I really liked the opening scene - Ira Glass sitting at his desk in the open countryside. I look forward to the next episode.

Your show was great, I can't wait to see the next one, even if I don't have SHOWTIME. Somehow I will see it. Keep up the good work. Question to Ira, Did you get to see the rancher's testical hanging?

    An American Original

    April 12, 2007
I had never heard of Ira Glass until my friend gave me tickets to his show in Chicago. He showed clips of this upcoming program and was just so endearing I found myself really checking my TiVo to see when I could record it. (I never watch anything live). Well, I watched the first two weeks together and I have to say I felt like one of those crazy people who thinks that a Soap Star is talking directly to them. As I was watching this show, I was actually thinking to myself that Mr. Glass was telling these normal stories to me and I wished I had come up with this simple, beautiful, connecting, engaging concept. I sat rapt and left my television disappointed. Not in the show, but that it was over until my next fix. The connection he has with the subjects as well as his easygoing delivery allow him to question intent, logic and reasoning without ever sounding condescending or in the least bit harsh. I hope others discover this gem of a show and I hope it becomes wildly successful. I rarely find a show worth reviewing, but this one gives me hope for our viewing futures if this is the way the tide is turning.
