Emmy WORST Dressed?????
September 17, 2007Note: I tried to find a way to comment on Yahoo's list but could only get this to come up. I will happily move it if Yahoo could suggest a better place for this review of a review:
I don't know why the stylists working for Yahoo! selected an orange Kate Walsh spilling out of a honeymoon nightie gone wrong for the BEST list and put Elizabeth Perkins into the WORST! This had to be an intentional switch to elicit debate or some kind of typing error, as the sleekly styled hair and fabulous makeup made Perkins stand out all the more for being in something a woman in an American suburb could actually wear--at least if you changed the length. That actually is what I think was at the bottom of this travesty, literally. Yahoo's professional opinionaters put ten Hollywood glamour babes strutting more silicone than silhouette on their "how to wear a mermaid dress at a Hollywood event list," including the obviously PC choice of America Ferrara in a wrinkled shock of blue no "full figured" gal could ever really make work. Meanwhile, Kyra Sedgwick, Debra Messing and Perkins wore items that would really fit fashionable Everywomen once you removed the only Hollywould bottoms and let them hit the knee. Think about it, and then go look at the lists again. We all know that these lists are directed toward we women who could never afford designer gowns and are mainly looking for some replicated version or feature to knock off and wear to a real PTA or City Council meeting in a city or suburb way below the available financesfictional Agrestic. The best/worst versions that will end up in the mid- to upper-price range of daywear in department stores will look a lot more like those on "worst" list, while the star power behind the "best" selections mainly set trends and prices in promwear. So, thank you Kyra, Debra, Elizabeth, and any other women who obviously understand their real audiences a heckuvalot better than most actresses and their so-called celebrity reviewistas! Was this review helpful to you?
