KRISTI is nearly flawless. Just look at the difficulty of her routines compared to everyone else's -- no one even comes close to what Kristi and Mark are pulling off week after week. Her lines, her musicality, and her attention to detail are what consistently get her the high marks. KRISTI’S SCORE: 10 ** It seems to help CRISTIAN focus to have one less limb to think about. With that arm out of the equation, Cristian has channeled his focus into his dancing, making it more precise and clean. CRISTIAN’S SCORE: 8 ** Gorgeous lines and a natural elegance give JASON an edge in ballroom, while Latin has proved to be more of a challenge. Before his injury, CRISTIAN was not a standout. He was decent, but suffered from some pretty forgettable performances. After the bicep tear, he was a firecracker. Credit his choreographer and partner Cheryl Burke for masking his injury and raising the stakes. CRISTIAN’S SCORE: 8 ** Here is an area that the judges said KRISTI was lacking in, but since giving her the note to let her emotions flow, she has upped the performance and passion in her already top notch routines. KRISTI’S SCORE: 9 ** The quickstep was JASON’s top performance. He had fun, great energy, and he performed like a champ. His other routines, however, left something to be desired. It comes down to execution: when he’s on his game, he is a joy to watch, but when he tries too hard, (i.e. the NFL theme song) he risks coming across as awkward and even a little dull. If any couple in this competition can wow me with beauty of movement and amazing choreography, it is KRISTI and Mark. Allow me to state the obvious: Mark is hands down the best choreographer this season and Kristi executes it brilliantly. KRISTI’S SCORE: 10 ** Here’s where it gets interesting for JASON. It could all come down to his execution of lifts and fully bringing his champion intensity to the dance floor. He has tremendous potential for 'wow'. With a strong start this season followed by some inconsistent performances, JASON is not this season’s Cinderella story in terms of growth. He has improved, but not as dramatically as his competitors. JASON’S SCORE: 7 ** It happened so fast with CRISTIAN. Before the injury he showed moderate growth, but that injury took his dancing to the next level. I wouldn’t have believed an injury like that could make him a contender for the title, but everyone loves a comeback. CRISTIAN’S SCORE: 9 ** Here’s the only category where KRISTI may be at a disadvantage because she began the season at such a high level. She has definitely gotten more comfortable on the dance floor, but her transformation hasn’t been as spectacular as some of the less physically gifted competitors. JASON'S a likable enough guy, but suffers from being a tad forgettable. While Yahoo! users do search for the football hero, he doesn’t seem to have built on his original fan base, leaving him third in the Buzz rankings. Ouch. JASON’S SCORE: 7 ** Searches for KRISTI surged in the beginning but have steadily declined week over week. Of the final three, she may have the second-most number of searches, but in a Yahoo! TV poll asking who users thought would win, Kristi crushed the competition securing over 60% of the votes. KRISTI’S SCORE: 8 ** You can’t buy press like the injury CRISTIAN suffered, and it has definitely caught people’s attention with searches for Cristian still on the rise. People want to see how he handles the injury, what kind of sparkly sleeve thingie he’ll throw on it, and if he’ll injure it again. With a 45 out of 50 score, KRISTI tops my leaderboard: it's Kristi's season. She's been called a favorite, a ringer, a shoo-in, and a pro, but it all leads us back to the fact that this Olympic champion has consistently delivered in all areas and keeps the crowd wanting more.
