    Many questions answered!

    April 17, 2007
Lost is, by and large, still the most compelling and original thing on television. I personally don't understand why many people are frusterated that no questions are being answered!

    Q) Why are there polar bears on the island? Why does Kate see a horse? Why was the shark's fin tagged "Dharma?"
    A) Recall that the Others were using some sort of zoo research facility to hold Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. It seems clear that these animals were being held in order to further reproductive research. Jack ended up in a fish tank and both Kate and Sawyer ended up in bear cages.

    Q) Why was Claire kidnapped and injected?
    A) The latest episode explained that the Others are involved in reproductive research and that Claire's injections, whether a placebo or actual medicine decide to aid her in keeping the baby healthy, are a result of this research.

    Q) How do the Others know all about the survivors?
    A) Again, the latest episode reveals that the Others have access to a computer system which allows them to almost instantly find information on anyone or anything. It would seem that the Others had no knowledge of the people on the plane ahead of time. Either that or Ben is an incredible actor (which we know to be true).

I look forward to each and every episode and the small pieces of the puzzle that each gives us. If for some reason the writers decided that they were going to solve each mystery for us next week I'd be bored.

    American Idiots….GET LOST!!

    March 30, 2007
    American Idiots...GET LOST!

I won't argue with all the cynics and critics who say that the show is unveiling slowly. I won't even argue the fact that the story is becoming complex and twisted. But what everyone fails to realize is THAT'S THE DARN POINT!!

Unfortunately these days, our dim-witted society is more entertained with mindless programming that does not require them to think, analyze, and question. All the popular shows these days (ala the American Idols and Flavor of Loves) involve no story, no character development, and no deeper messages. Granted, these shows are entertaining and are a genre of their own, but it’s sad that America does not have the patience nor the intelligence for anything more.

LOST is one of those shows that relies on its suspense and the withholding of information and certain plot lines; it has been from the beginning! It’s funny that all those people who claim to have loved it from season 1 just started to realize this. True, it is perplexing and multi-leveled but the fun is in the “not-knowing.” The mystery is one of the main driving forces of the show (others being characterization and allegories). The point of the show is to confuse us sometimes and to get us to ask questions and to start putting the pieces together. It requires some patience, brainwork and some good memory which the standard US audience does not have.

That being said, if you can’t handle or comprehend it anymore then give your feeble brains a rest. Go watch something predictable, simple, and immediately satisfying. I would suggest to go read a book, but the particular people I’m speaking to probably don’t do that either.

For everyone else, keep thinking, keep analyzing and keep watching. Help quality television stay on the air before everything becomes monotonous and repetitive. And most importantly, enjoy the ride!!

    What a twist!

    May 23, 2007
I think it was pretty obvious that the Jack sequences were glimpses of the future and not flashbacks, a pretty darn good twist considering the trademark design of LOST episodes.

This definitively tells us that they DO in fact make it off the island. Jack tells the new chief of surgery at his hospital that he has no idea what Jack has been through, Kate remarks to Jack that he is "pulling people from burning wreckage, again". I am thinking that they make it off, but probably not as a result of Jack's communication on the sat phone. I believe that their real way off the island is yet to be revealed. But for some reason when they get off they are unable to talk about it and they are under the control of an external source at that point. What was interesting is that Jack asked the new chief to get his father...his father is dead...or is he?

We have a lot of our initial questions answered at this point, we know who the Others are, we know what the Dharma Initiative was, we know how the Others got their information about the Losties, We know that the island can be found now that the signal jammer is gone.

What we still don't know is what is up with the fertility thing, what exactly is the island, why don't you have the ability to leave it, what are Ben's true motivations, Who is Jacob, What is Locke's power, Who is Naomi and her crew, How did Naomi know about Pen when Pen does not know her?

It is going to be a long eight month wait till we get to see more of the best show on television...I personally can't wait!

    Great Finale!!

    To all the complainers...

    April 4, 2007
As we speak, you are getting ready for tonight's episode wondering what is Kate/Juiliet going to do. You complain about the questions of the Island never getting answered. But I ask you one thing: What fun would it be if they answered them? Would you still watch the show? Why not twist and turn our brains by giving us more questions to be answered so that we forget about what might be important? Then when the answers come, you will be like oh, I never thought about that! I love Lost. Yes, I agree there is some downtime in the show. But look at it like this, what show/movie does not have downtime. The one thing about LOST though is that during that time, they just might have actually given you a hint or clue or maybe had even answered your the question and you did not even realize it. So stay tuned...Trust me...you will not be let down...

    Life without LOST ...

    May 22, 2008
One more episode and its life without LOST. I have missed only one episode since the series began ..amazing considering my busy life. The program is certainly addictive and for me its the "mystical aspect" of LOST that keeps me hooked (My all-time favorite series was the X-Files). From Locke's regaining the ability to walk, to Sawyer's (My favorite character) transforming from con-man-murderer to someone who genuinely has a soul (Sawyer threatening to kill Locke if Hurley is harmed? Who would have thought it?), to Sun (Wait, come to think of it, SHE is my favorite character ..or maybe I simply in love with her!) finding the inner strength to face all of her demons, the island transforms people and I like that theme. Except for a couple of seasons ago when the writers went astray and the "off and on" TV scheduling disgusted regular viewerers, the series has been simply amazing: great overall plot and subplots, fascinating characters, and the many twists and cliff hanger endings makes LOST the best television series in many years. My least favorite parts of LOST? Nothing major actually, though I do tire of all of the attention put on Jack and Kate when I find other characters more compelling. I am also tired - generally - with not only LOST, but so many other television series - feeling like they need to kill off popular characters for .. what purpose? I still have not gotten over the loss of Charlie and I fear that the always unfortunate Desmond - another of my favorites - will be gone by the end of this season and never again see his beloved Penny.

One more week, and once again it will be life without LOST.
