Janie Mack! This show is Rich!!

    April 20, 2007
My three year old and I race to the TV to watch this one. "Me own muther" is off the boat from rural Ireland, and the settings and phrases are spot on!! If you're the wee offspring of a parent who couldn't quite leave it all behind, you too will recognize some familiar phrases from your upbringing. The crowning touch has to be the subplot of the sheep from the Bronx (Mel Brooks). If you don't have a little one, then grab a guiness, a comfortable place to sit and enjoy. If you're subjected to endless children's programming, this one's a keeper!

Love it, Love it, Love it!

    October 31, 2007
I watch it before work...no kids...just me and it makes me smile & feel good. Putting pots and colanders on their heads for helmets and using wooden spoons as swords...Prancing around on wooden ponies ... It's the simplicity of a generation long gone and a welcome morning respite before a hectic day.
    It's a treasure.

    It's for Kids . . . It's for Grownups

    August 30, 2007
Janie Mack!!! I recently started babysitting my five-month old grandson and stumbled across Jakers! What a gem! Now it's must-see TV. It's great to see a show with inter-generational AND multi-cultural themes and kids using their imagination! Add the sly humor of Wiley the Sheep (Mel Brooks) and Shirley the Sheep (Joan Rivers) and it's the best 30 minutes you can spend alone or with a child.

It's time forJakers !! Something about an Irish speaking pig, I love Ferdie, he so cute with his blazer and his eyes are full of expression.
Right up there with Veggie Tales.

    Grandpa Piggly Rocks!

    March 14, 2008
This is an adorable new age animated educational show for kids and adults, as well!
Grandpa Piggly recounts his adventures as a child, with best friends Dannon (a duck) and Ferny ( a calf) to his grandchildren. There's always a lesson learned, and Wiley the Sheep (played by Mel Brooks) is always a riot when trying to lead the other, less sophisticated (he thinks!) sheep!
I would highly recommend this show for any child, young or old!
The tales take place in Ireland, and are always fun!
PBS.org has a Jakers site which is full of fun things for kids to do, as well!
