The View

Created in 1997 by veteran journalist Barbara Walters, "The View" is a morning talk show with a twist: it's hosted by five women including Walters, comedian Joy Behar, and ex-reality show star Elizabeth Hasselbeck. The show found itself in the middle of controversy during Rosie O'Donnell's short stint as a co-host in 2007, as she and the conservative Hasselbeck would often wind up in news-making, heated political debates. Since O'Donnell's departure, actress Whoopi Goldberg and stand-up comic Sherri Shepherd have joined the cast. Each woman gets to offer her own, unique take on the day's news during the opening "Hot Topics" segment. more
